ONAY& ONAY was formed over 38 years ago with the objective of offering high-end legal services to business and private clients. Today our firm retains the same strategic vision and continues to offer its clients custom-made solutions, pragmatic advice, and a personal touch.
MEET OUR TEAM
ALI ONAY
THE SENIOR FOUNDING AND MANAGING PARTNER
Mr. Ali Onay is the senior founding and managing partner of the ONAY & ONAY Law Firm.
He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Law (Turkey) in 1977. After completing his training, in 1979 he was called to the TRNC Bar Association. In the same year, he opened up his own law office in Famagusta, Northern Cyprus and started to work as an Advocate.
In 1986 he was appointed as a Public Prosecutor by The Supreme Board of Prosecutors. He worked as a Public Prosecutor in Nicosia and Famagusta Governmental Law Offices. In October 1991 Mr. Onay was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) and served in the TRNC Assembly of the Republic until end of 1993. At the beginning of 1994 Ali Onay has reestablished his Law Firm with an ambition of creating the leading honest law firm of North Cyprus and returned to his profession. He is still actively working as an Advocate.
Mr. Ali Onay served in Cyprus Turkish Football Association as an Arbitration Committee Member for 5 years until 2000. Besides that, he took part in Mağusa Türk Gücü Sports Club Administrative Comitee and served as a Vice-President.

DOGAN ONAY
PARTNER
Mr. Dogan Onay is a partner of the company.
Mr. Onay studied at Coventry University, School of Law (England) and successfully completed his LLB degree in 2012. Dogan Onay worked one of the leading solicitor law firms in Liverpool, England for a year with the ambition of gaining experience and broading his horizons.
Mr. Onay has successfully completed numerous academic and legal training courses and awarded certificates from well-known prominent institutions during his education such as Westlaw and Lexis Nexis. He obtained his Master of Laws degree (LLM) in 2014 from Keele University (England).
Mr. Doğan Onay returned to Cyprus to complete his legal training and was called to the TRNC Bar Association in 2015. He has been actively working as an Advocate.

HALIL ONAY

Mr. Halil Onay is a partner of the company.
Mr. Halil Onay graduated from Coventry University, School of Law (England) and gained his LLB degree in 2012. Mr. Onay worked one of the reputable solicitor law firms in Liverpool, England for a year. During his working experience he took chance to work as a lawyer under English Legal System.
Mr. Onay has successfully completed numerous academic and legal training courses and awarded certificates from leading institutions and organizations during his education. Some of them are Westlaw and Lexis Nexis. He completed his Master of Laws (LLM) at Keele University(England)in 2014.
Mr. Halil Onay returned to Cyprus in order to complete his legal training and he was called to the TRNC Bar Association in 2015. He has been actively working as an Advocate.
